The Coalition of Advoacates for Change in Addiction Treatment (CACAT)

Uniting voices to improve addiction care and recovery outcomes

Policy Priorities

Advancing practical reforms to improve access, oversight, and treatment system stability.

About Us

CACAT is managed by Addiction Recovery Communities of California (ARCC), a committee of the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP). While CACAT operates in partnership with these established leaders in the field, it maintains its own independent membership, and joining is completely free. This structure allows CACAT to stay closely connected to professional expertise while also creating an open, accessible space for organizations and advocates who want to strengthen addiction treatment and recovery systems across California.

Membership gives your organization a seat at the table in meaningful, action oriented advocacy. Members are invited to meetings featuring updates on state legislation and proposed regulations that impact patient access to addiction treatment and recovery services. You will also receive our monthly newsletter, opportunities to collaborate with other advocacy groups, and direct pathways to help shape policy and legislation in California. CACAT serves as a convening space where voices from across the recovery community come together to share information, coordinate efforts, and push for lasting, system level change.

Join Us!

The Coalition of Advoacates for Change in Addiction Treatment (CACAT) invites your organization to consider joining our coalition. For the last few years, the CCARA has provided a forum for advocacy and discussion among addiction recovery and treatment organizations. The membership consists of non-profit and for-profit addiction recovery and treatment organizations, patient advocacy groups, and national associations/California chapters.
